We believe a rainy day should never get in the way of a good day out. That belief has been at the heart of The Welly Shop since we began.
Who we are
The Welly Shop began as a small family business in Herefordshire, near Ross-on-Wye, selling hand-crafted natural rubber wellingtons from Le Chameau, Aigle and Hunter at county and agricultural shows, and by mail order. We opened our first website in 2001, and we have been helping people find the right pair online for more than 25 years.
How we grew
As more of you found us online, we needed more room. Around 2008 we moved our warehouse to a larger facility in Tonbridge, Kent, and in 2010 to Burton-upon-Trent, which let us hold far more stock. In 2015 we moved to Birmingham, where we could offer next-day delivery on most boots, and our Birmingham warehouse still packs every order today.
Along the way we have got to know our boots inside out, having seen first hand how our main brands turn raw rubber into a finished welly. That knowledge is still what we are here for: helping you find a pair that fits, lasts and gets you outside, whatever the weather. Today you will find the names we have trusted from the start, Hunter, Aigle and Le Chameau, alongside Muck Boot and plenty more, in one friendly, easy place to shop.
